This is the card I made and didn't get round to blogging it, but you know what they say "Better late than never"  Lavender & Lace is Challenge No. 71 and runs until July 23rd 2012. So why not pop over and have a look at what our very talented design team have created.

For those of you who have been asking about the levels of the River Loxley near my home with all of the rain we had been having earlier this month. I have a few pictures to share with you from two weeks ago last Friday July 6th 2012. If you live in the Sheffield area you may remember the concerns that the River Don looked like it was ready to burst it banks again, and Meadowhall shut early just in case. Luckily the River Don peaked at 9pm with no flooding.

My pictures were taken on Friday 6th July at 7pm.

You can usually see the rocks and stones on the river bed with a few ducks as in the next picture taken a couple of weeks earlier while Ava was feeding the ducks.

The wear is just passed the bottom of our garden

Malin Bridge where the River Rivelin meets the River Loxley

The weather forecast is good for the school holidays so fingers crossed.

What ever you are doing this weekend Enjoy!

Down in the jungle

Last week was my Grandson Rocco's 1st birthday and we had a jungle theme garden party for him. We were really lucky with the weather, it was a glorious sunny day. One of the very few we have had this summer. I thought it would be nice to make him a jungle theme card.

The card was 8" x 8" and concertina style.

Really enjoyed making it and could have just kept adding to it.
Happy crafting.

Embroidered Cushion and Quilt

Good morning all from a very wet Sheffield. It looks like it is going to be another indoor day today, oh dear we will just have to stay in and craft! I beginning to think we should all have webbed feet!! lol

To be honest the rain hasn't bothered me too much as I have been keeping myself busy sewing. I got my sewing machine fixed last week it has been poorly for several months. So I bit the bullet and took it for its new part.

I have made a baby quilt and matching cushion for a little girl's 1st birthday.

I started by creating a selection of machine embroidered squares, a bunch of balloons, ice cream cone, flower heart and name.

The white fabric is Moda Muslin Mates with white small footprints. A close up of the heart square.

What ever you are doing today enjoy!
Happy crafting and sewing.
