More Crazy Wonky Sqaures

This morning I made a few more wonky blocks with my scraps. I liked the effect so much I decided to cut some more fabric. I know the whole idea was to use up my scraps! I decided to cut up the big usable chunks in to different size strips. When making the blocks I just kept adding a strip, turning the block not worrying which strip I added next, I have managed to make 24 blocks in total.

I have now added some small pale blue and white checked Tilda  fabric, which wasn't in my box!
What do you think?

I think the Tilda fabric really sets the blocks off, don't you?

All ready for layering up and quilting. The finished blocks are all 8" x 8" square, I have arranged them as six rows of four. A nice size for a lap quilt or throw.

Crazy Wonky Squares

Today I have been having another day sorting my crafty stash, this time my fabric collection! It is now sorted in to 'Unfinished Projects', 'Usable Sized Pieces' and 'Fabric scraps'. When is a fabric scrap to small to be usable? It has too be tiny, I can only bring myself to part with incy wincy little bits! lol

When I'd finished I had a table full of usable fabric scraps. I will just share a small section with you.

So what shall I do next? mmmm sort the scraps in to colours, and then I took the blues, and sorted into size, squarish bits, strips etc.

Next I took the lengths of blues all different widths from 1" inch wide to 3" inch wide and ironed them. I had some small chunky pieces of dark blue approx 2 x 3. OK so off we go, I sewed the chunky bits to a strip. I did n't square anything up with my cutter and ruler. I just got straight in with the sewing and cut in to chunks with scissors and no quarter inches seams either! I just keep adding strips of different widths, turning the block and chopping off with scissors with a little bit of pressing in between.

I have squared them up to eight and half inches.

What do you think to my crazy wonky squares?

Everyone different

I have now started to join the blocks together with pale blue and white checked fabric.

What do you do with your left over fabric scrap?

Well its snowing again here in Sheffield tonight so more sewing I think.
What ever you are doing this cold winter night
ENJOY!

Sewing theme card

Its snowing again here in Sheffield tonight. After a mild dry day, a lot of the snow has melted this afternoon, so I suppose we have room for more. lol I had already planned a crafting day and as a lot of the stuff was still out from yesterday it would have been a shame not too! lol

My card this evening has a sewing theme, its great having all my stamp sorted!
The pictures not great as the light was poor, I have gone close up, might try and take a better one tomorrow.

For the background I stuck a piece of dress makers paper pattern to a square of white card. I then randomly stamped all over. I stamped some more sewing images on white card, mounted them inked with antique linen distress ink and add dark brown cardstock.

The recipe for this card is:
Main card: Craft Den white 8" x 8"
Backing paper: White card and stamped paper pattern

Get well card

Hello all my crafty blogging friends, getting a bit of a regular on here again, aren't I? It is one of my new years resolutions to try and put aside a little blogging time, another resolution is to organise my stash better so I spend more time crafting and less time looking for things.

Last week with this in mind I started to organise my stamps, first by companies and then into categories, putting the Christmas ones away, sorting the birthday ones in to male, female, children, wedding, sentiments etc this revealed I had several Easter stamps  mmmmm why I wonder had I got so many Easter stamps? come to that why had I got 3 of the same wedding stamp?

So when the snow was falling on Monday I thought it high time to ink a few of those Easter stamps, then out came the Copics and I made a few Easter cards. Well that got a few of you rushing for your diaries yesterday when I blogged an Easter card! I still have some more to share but I will save them for another day...

Todays card is a get well card that I made for my brother-in-law who had a knee op.

Backing paper: Bo Bunny Double Dot and oddments from off cut box
Stamps: Magnolia Nurse Tilda
Copics
Punch: Fiskars Star
Card Candi: Craftworkcards
Button, twine, bandage from stash
Hand written sentiment: Wishing you a very speedy recovery
